It has 4 different blades for me to choose from, the container and a cutting guard so that I don't accidentally lose a finger. I can throw everything in the dishwasher and it has a non-skid base so that the container doesn't slide on the counter when I am slicing.

The second mandolin slider I would consider is the one from Freshware. Based on all of the high ratings that their customers have given this product. This slicer also has a chopping feature if you want to cube any of your veggies - which comes in handy as it keeps the sizes all the same for consistency for cooking. You can use it on fruit, cheese, vegetables, onions and some dried meats.

If you are looking for an inexpensive mandolin slicer, here are my three choices:

1. MEGLIO Adjustable Mandoline Slicer with 4 Interchangeable Blades

This slicer is the new kid on the block with no reviews yet. It has a soft handle and 4 blades. No rubber traction on the bottom of the container (and since that is what mine has, I highly recommend it). But for the money, this is a good option.

2. Starfrit 4 Blade Mandolin Slicer

Another inexpensive slicer. The container is rather small so you will have to stop and empty it out each time it fills up. The container is non-slip tho! Good for the money - you can find it here.

3. Sharper Image 3 in 1 Mandoline Super Slicer with Non Slip Container

Here is another cheap slicer to consider. It has a non-slip base but the blades are not as sharp as the better quality slicers.
